Press Release

Dickinson gallery is pleased to exhibit a range of highlights at Masterpiece 2017, which will take place at the Royal Chelsea Hospital from 29th June – 5th July 2016. We will be showing some of the most important names in 19th and 20th Century art.

Among the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings on view will be landscapes by Van Gogh, Pissarro, Sisley, Monet, Caillebotte and Cross.

Dickinson will showcase works on paper with a dedicated wall comprising 20th Century highlights, with examples by Cubism’s most recognisable figures: Picasso, Braque, Gris and Metzinger. Other highlights from the first half of the century include works by Modigliani and Klee. Modern British Art will be represented by Sutherland, Hitchens and Jack Butler Yeats.

Moving into the Post-War and Contemporary era, Dickinson will show a painting by the originator of Art Brut, Jean Dubuffet, with its graffiti-like scrawls; Dollar Sign, an instantly-recognisable icon of Pop Art by Andy Warhol; two roundels by Damien Hirst; and Enrico Castellani’s Superficie Bianca. Sculpture is represented by Marino Marini’s Cavallo of 1952.

Dickinson will be focusing on Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art at Masterpiece while exhibiting Old Masters at our Jermyn Street Gallery during London Art Week.
