With an MA in History of Art, Hugo graduated from Edinburgh University in 1998, and immediately started at Dickinson in London. Working closely with Simon Dickinson in Old Master paintings, he became Gallery Manager and then a specialist, joining the main board of Directors in 2005. He worked with David Ker in developing the Modern British Pictures Department and increased the gallery's activities in the field of British and Sporting Pictures.
Hugo was appointed President of Dickinson New York in 2006, and is Dickinson's chief representative in both North and South America. He oversees the New York Gallery's exhibition schedule, Liaises with Institutions and advises private clients on sales, acquisitions and valuations, in all fields.
