We pride ourselves on our discretion and professionalism. Because we have access to many of the best collections in private hands - especially in Britain where the survival of great family art collections is probably unequalled anywhere else - most of our business is conducted with privacy in mind, away from the glare of the saleroom. The majority of our business is conducted by private treaty on a commission basis on behalf of families, private collectors, institutions, foundations and museums.

While not every work of art we handle is worth hundreds of thousands or even millions, each object is valuable to the owner. We often handle a single great painting for a client but have also administered entire collections and estates. Our considerable saleroom experience gives us the ability to manage the multiple aspects involved in selling and buying works of art and to address the many needs of a client in the often overwhelming process of collecting and disposing of property.

Many of the sales we have negotiated must remain confidential, but shown in the notable sales section are a few of the paintings we have successfully negotiated on behalf of our clients to museums and private collectors.
